This is a stunning Swung vase in smoked glass. Swung vases were created when the glassblower held the “gather” on the end of the blow pipe and, using a special tool swung the molten glass in a circle to elongate it. Swung vases are iconic design of the late 1960's and early 1970's and Viking was one of the companies best-known for creating beautiful swung vases.
