JR Kennedy Oil on Masonite Portrait
This captivating portrait is an original oil on masonite by American painter Janet Robson Kennedy. The frame measures 44.5" high x 32.5" wide and is 1.5" deep. This is a beautiful work likely painted in the 1960's. The background is shades of blues and greens with bright red, yellow, green, blue, and metallic gold on the body of the subject. The gold accents catch the light in a really lovely way.
The subject is unknown, however in her lifetime, JR Kennedy illustrated several religious books and this portrait may be religious in nature - perhaps Joseph and his coat of many colors.
